Mentoring Fresh-People and Getting Paid for It

DTC students interested in mentoring fresh -men and -women are invited to apply for Summer 2008, Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 mentoring opportunities.

Requirements include:

3.0 GPA
Enrolled through 2009
Some experience with mentoring/tutoring, or related experience
Available up to 15 hrs. a week through May 2009
Strong interpersonal skills

Pay: $11/hr. for 10-15 hrs. a week

The program, which essentially is a training program aimed at getting you ready for Fall and Spring mentoring, begins this summer and requires only 40 hrs. of your time.

How to apply: Send resume and statement of interest to src@vancouver.wsu.edu by Wednesday, April 16, 2008. You are asked to "explain your interest in the position and describe your communication style" in your "interest sttaement."

Personally, I think DTC students are perfect for this kind of position. You guys learn how to communicate effectively, serve as leaders and guides for one another in your various projects, and are interested in the human aspect of technology.

If you would like to try for one of the these jobs and want help with your resume or interest statement, let me know. I will be glad to give you a hand.
