Social Media & Marketing Internship (Weddings/Youth Marketing)
We’re looking to hire a talented, self-motivated individual for a six month internship that will support two lines of business (Weddings & Youth Group Programs) from a social media & marketing perspective.
The intern will act as a fully integrated member of the Marketing team and will focus primarily on new emerging social media, such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and others. This is a full-time paid internship, and we will work with you and your school to support academic credit, if applicable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collect and share insights and experiences while working for Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings through social and interactive media: Blogs, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, New and emerging media
- Unprecedented access to marketing meetings, brainstorm sessions, ad shoots, and special events
- Meet weekly with Wedding Planning team to find out about unique/over the top upcoming weddings that warrant PR/social media coverage
- Monitor social media for wedding industry specific news, off-the-wall wedding stories or anything else brides to be might find interesting
- Chronicle experience through video; edit and post to selected media
- Conduct media outreach for PR programs
- Assist with execution of national PR programs
- Support Marketing team with current projects such as collateral development, photo/video shoots, website re-design, etc.
- Researching and identifying market trends, on-line consumer behavior, and developing on-line promotional opportunities.
- Assist with admin responsibilities as needed (inventory management, invoicing, etc)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: (These are the minimum qualifications you need to be considered for the job.)
- Candidates should be a junior or senior studying for a B.A. or B.S., preferably with specialization in marketing, journalism, communications, public relations or a related course study.
- Demonstrated knowledge of social media is a must. Selected applicants will be required to submit a portfolio of social media know-how and relevant experience. Previous internships or extracurricular activities, including membership in AMA, PRSSA, or other organizations are also valuable.
- Candidates must be available full-time starting January 14, 2010. Position will be located at the Corporate Office for Walt Disney World® Resort just outside of Orlando, FL
